Residents of the Helen Joseph women's hostel in Alexandra - north of Johannesburg are fearing for their lives due to increased incidents of rape and robberies at the facility.
They say the living conditions at the hostel are also unbearable due to overflowing sewage, toilets that do not flush, broken windows and leaking roofs.
Today they marched to Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi's office where they handed over a memorandum of demands.
