See more and get the full experience with this longer version of the scenic forest hike through the Twin Falls Trail in Olallie State Park. Join Roman as he starts the day with a stop at the gas station, grabs a quick breakfast at McDonald’s, and heads out to the trailhead. The hike is filmed in 8K HDR using footage from a 360 camera, edited into clear, steady shots that show the trail as it is. You’ll see the forest up close—trees, streams, rocks, roots—and hear only real sounds from the environment. No narration, no effects—just a real hike, start to finish.
One of the most interesting things about the Twin Falls Trail is how much you get in such a short hike. In just under three miles round trip, the trail takes you through dense Pacific Northwest forest and leads to a dramatic view of Twin Falls (00:32:22) —where the South Fork Snoqualmie River drops in two powerful stages through a rocky gorge. The upper viewpoint gives you a close look at the taller, upper falls, while a lower platform lets you watch the water crash into the pool below. It’s a fast payoff for a relatively easy hike, making it one of the most popular trails in Olallie State Park.
Filmed in summer 2025, this video was recorded by hiker and filmmaker Roman using a mix of compact, high-quality cameras: DJI Osmo 360, Insta360 Go 3S, Insta360 X5, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The goal was to show the hike as realistically as possible. The video uses different angles so you're not just watching someone walk—you also see what’s around them, above, and behind. Each camera was used for a specific purpose, like capturing steady walking shots, wide views of the forest, or clear shots of the waterfalls.
