Broadcast in 1996 on the Danish TV 2 programme Puls, this in-depth interview features Morten Harket speaking openly about the extreme psychological and physical pressures he experienced at the height of a-ha’s global success. He reflects on the dangerous side of fame, the mental overload that led to a complete breakdown in the late 1980s, and the alarming symptoms he developed— including losing his sense of taste, colour perception, and emotional balance.
Harket describes the invisible forces of celebrity life, the paranoia that grows from constant exposure, and how the body eventually collapses under pressure. He also talks about how he slowly recovered, but emerged as a fundamentally changed person with a heightened awareness of what drains or restores his energy.
