Описание: Professor Katy Shaw is Director of the UKRI/AHRC Creative Communities programme and Professor of writing and publishing. Her research interests include devolution and culture, diversity and inclusion in the creative industries (the subject of her 2022 TED talk) and cultural policy-making. She tells us about her experience growing up in the North East and presents a compelling economic case for supporting our creative industries in the North. She also speaks about her frustrations around the industry limitations imposed by poor regional public transport and highlights how improved connections could open up a wealth of new artistic opportunities and skills for people in the region.
