Wyckoff Stock Market Technique - Selling Stock Short

Abercrombie & Fitch-(ANF)- is a nice, real world, example of how a selling stock short can have relatively long term profits. Like many stocks, this one is not a perfect example of every Wyckoff strategy and technique. However, the purpose of this website is to help Wyckoff students better understand Mr. Wyckoff's teachings apply to real world trading. With that in mind, let's continue

In early June 2011, ANF reached a high of 77 and 2/3 at point F on its vertical line chart. While not shown here, it had reached its objective on the stock's point and figure chart. Even more significantly, it had broken its long-term uptrend channel. This strongly suggested the rally had been completed and Abercrombie and Fitch was probably going to move sideways and develop a new trading range.

It reacted to point G, and then rallied to point H. The subsequent reaction to point I was lower than point G. The rally to point J was slightly lower than points F and H.

In addition, there was a substantial count of 67 points on ANF's point and figure chart.

While, there has not been definitive ending action, in the form of a Upthrust, Abercrombie and Fitch is certainly a candidate for selling stock short.

Remember, following distribution, ending action can also come in the form of a Sign of Weakness.
