Wights are a great Dungeons and Dragons 5e monster because their encounters are super customizable! Need more difficulty? Add zombies or other, stronger entities like wraiths! Need to lessen the difficulty? Start with fewer zombies! Admittedly, I may use more wights than the fight typically calls for, but I like to put that bit of extra pressure on my players. Nothing quite incentivizes survival like your corpse getting raised as a zombie within a day, right?!
