The Volkhov, the newest diesel-electric submarine, launched a Kalibr missile from an underwater position during exercises in the Sea of Japan. The missile hit a coastal target at the Syurkum tactical field in the Khabarovsk region. The range of the firing was more than 1,000 kilometers. The performance of the firing was ensured by ships and vessels of the Pacific Fleet, aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles of the Pacific Fleet Naval Air Forces.
