Описание: THE DUCK was originally composed by the late Pipe Major Donald MacLeod MBE (1916-1982) as a two part 6-8 Irish jig and is a great first jig for students. PM MacLeod served with the Seaforth Highlanders in World War Two and later awarded the MBE for his extensive contributions to the piping community. Later arrangements of THE DUCK added two additional parts. The tune remains popular as a session or ceilidh tune for either bagpipe or fiddle. Legend has it that the title is not referring to waterfowl; rather, it alludes to a piping colleague of MacLeod who played the pipes with an odd posture.
