PLOT/GAMEPLAY: A rather unknown side-scrolling puzzle game released in Japan only (although yes, the in-game language is entirely in english) sold primarly to advertise the Super Famicom Mouse accessory, "Mario & Wario" allows the player to control Wanda the fairy who needs to guide Mario (who became sightless after one of Wario's many pranks) through various mazes until he reaches Luigi at the end of every screen. The object of each level is, of course, not letting Mario fall into any of the hazards placed through his course.
Although the difficulty ramps up during the final stages, the game is overall a fairly easy puzzle, characterized by happy and colorful graphics which are common in lighthearted SNES games; in addition to Mario, which represents the "Normal" difficulty and character speed, the player can also choose to guide Princess Peach (slow character, "Easy" mode) and Yoshi (fast character, "Hard" mode). There are 10 levels each world, and 9 worlds plus an extra one, unlockable after every other one has been cleared.
Collectibles scattered along the course can be coins, which Wanda can click from the green blocks (each 100 coins the player's awarded with a 1UP); four stars, usually placed in almost-hard to reach places which can help rack up points (and give out 1UPs if the player collects them all) and mushrooms, which restore the timer. Levels, in fact, must be completed within a time limit, and the extra unused seconds count towards the high score at the end of a screen. There's also a bonus stage each world completion which allows to beat the hell out of Wario!

Each world presents its own scenery, blocks and enemies. World 2 introduces us to the first enemies of the game (small ravens, it seems) and tiny versions of various blocks, which are a pain in the ass to click with the mouse.

PART 2 CONTAINS LEVELS FROM WORLD 2 ONLY.

Before passing on to other titles, I feel like my channel should have this one in its playlist. For me, it's a classic among Super Famicom puzzle games, and with my new computer I can actually use the mouse in order to play this, just like it was originally meant to be played. The premise is still silly as I remembered, but who cares: it's fun.
I apologize in advance if you'll see some writings of the savestates saved and loaded: I'm normally against his kind of cheating when it comes to videogames, but for editing purposes I need to keep my progresses saved as much as possible.
As for Wanda, after this game she probably got engaged with a green-haired fairy and went on to have a carreer in the animation industry. :V
