The SAR value of the device is .428W/KG and .601W/KG on the head and body respectively. That is way under the allowed limits.

In the box we have the One Plus X. Next we have the sim trap ejector tool and the nice semi transparent frosty looking back case.

Its great that companies are starting to bundle back case with their devices. Quick start guide, user guide and some other documentation which is nicely printed and high quality paper. I dunno why companies waste so much paper, no one reads this! Go green I say :-) Its a delight to unbox devices when companies package it so well.

We have the wall charger, this is a 5v 2a unit, no quick charge though. Micro USB cable which is made of excellent quality, long flat cable with gold plated USB ports.

The display is a 5” full HD AMOLED display so you have those deep blacks and great contrast! Above the screen we have the speaker, a bunch of sensors and notification led light. An 8mp front facing camera. At the bottom we have the hardware buttons, these are reprogrammable and are not backlit!

At the bottom we have a speaker grill, the microphone and the micro USB charging port. On the right we have the power lock/unlock button, the volume rocker and the hybrid sim card tray. So you can either put in 2 sim card or 1 sim card and 1 micro SD card slot. Slight disadvantage there.

On the top we have the secondary microphone and the 3.5mm headphone jack. on the left we have the alert switch that lets you move to priority or no notification or turn on all notifications.

The back is made of glass, it holds the 13mp camera with the led flash, no OIS and the one plus logo.

So the overall design screams premium!! It just weighs 138gms and is 6.9mm in terms of the thickness. The device sports a 2.5d glass that kind of blends in with the sides. The edges have these nice ridges all around and are chamfered. So really nice job there by one plus in terms of the design. I would like to see this design on a bigger phone by One plus.

You can setup gestures when the screen is off, like double tap to wake, draw V to start the torch, O to start the camera and gestures for music controls right at the start.
Choose the keyboard. I prefer Swiftkey over the google keyboard and enable shelf. Shelf is oxygen OS replacement for Google Now or it more aligned with the HTC Sense UI. I will enable that as well.

So shelf lets you see your frequent apps and contacts, you can also add widgets to it. So you get to see your important info in the shelf but you will not see your google now cards.

I love the all black or dark theme in the setting panel, the app drawer and so on. Its making the best use of the AMOLED display and will also provide battery life. The phone is fast and responsive as well.

You have around 12gb of usable internal storage out of the box and you can put in the micro SD card if required. there is already an update available for the device.
