San Antonio Approves Nuestra Tierra Housing Despite Pushback

Описание: San Antonio City Council has approved the 65 unit Nuestra Tierra affordable housing development on the city’s northwest side in an 8 to 3 vote.

Dozens of neighbors voiced concerns over traffic, privacy, light pollution, safety, strain on utilities and potential impacts to property values. Residents say they collected more than 900 signatures opposing the project.

Developers argue they met the benchmarks required for housing tax credits and made design changes to address community concerns, including removing certain exterior amenities and adjusting the site plan.
