MELIKA BOAKYE
After relocating to Ghana in 2019, Melika has truly established herself as one of Ghana’s latest trailblazing creative entrepreneurs. Her time is often split between her work in Oil and Gas as a compliance manager, and her two other businesses; MB Logistics, company shipping items from the UK to Ghana for individuals / Convenience Stores, and Boda Organics, an organic skin, body and hair care brand. In the ‘free’ time Melika has, she creates content for blogs and YouTube whilst presenting and hosting events for media houses within Ghana and the UK. Melika will soon be back in our ears with a new podcast called ‘A Better friend’ through Ghana’s own podcasting house The Gold coast Report.

RITA MAWUENA BENISSAN
My Bio:
Ghanaian- American interdisciplinary artist Rita Mawuena Benissan works explore the identities of Africans and African Americans while showcasing the profound beauty and power of black culture. Born in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire in 1995 to Ghanaian parents, she immigrated to the United States as a baby. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Apparel and Textile Design from Michigan State University in 2017. She recently graduated in 2021 from the University of Wisconsin- Madison with a Master of Fine Arts in photography and an African Studies Program Certificate. She is the founder of Si Hene, a foundation that focuses on preserving Ghana’s chieftaincy and traditional culture. She is the Chief Curator at the Institute Museum of Ghana. She has had exhibitions at Michigan State University, the University of Wisconsin- Madison, and the Arts + Literature Laboratory. She was recently in EFIE: Museum as Home, a group museum exhibition at Dortmund U in Germany.
