Renée was 18 when she started noticing bruises all over her body. At first, she thought the bruising was normal because she was a cheerleader and dancer. But after she had her wisdom teeth removed, her health rapidly declined, prompting her mom to bring her to the hospital. She was then diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and was told she had a less than 25% chance of making it through the night, let alone the week.
In this conversation, she shares how she processed her diagnosis at 18, the intense treatment she underwent and how her diagnosis still impacts her today.
