Muzishare R100 805 model has been of interest to many people. And finally there is some spare time to record some samples to show the deeper extension 805 goes as compared to 845 previously. 845 holds some vocal advantage with that bit of sparkle, but the difference is really small, definitely not night and day.

With digital sources getting common, having good power to run these equipment is vital. An RPI 4 has been the choice of streamer for its bit-perfect output using Volumio and the USB output to DAC has been unrivalled at this price point. Just wanted to point out here. Forget running the files off a NAS or HDD - a huge capacity microSD (which is getting more affordable nowadays) is the ultimate path to the highest sound quality for Volumio to play by having the files saved in there. Tried and tested. Internal storage triumphs over Ethernet which triumphs over Wifi, easily.

Powering RPI 4 with better and cleaner power drives the SQ out of RPI 4 alot further. If running an RPI 4 with the wall wart power brick is still the norm, changing that with a dedicated LPS should be the next step of upgrade. Current tubes supplied from Muzishare updated version of R100 has improved in the preamp tubes, where they are now EH/JJ compared to previously being Shuguang. A tube upgrade in the rectifier is still highly recommended.
