York Bridge Concepts™ (YBC™) designed and built a two-lane timber vehicular bridge with an integrated pedestrian walkway for the award-winning Coastal Club master-planned community in Lewes, DE. Located near Delaware’s scenic beaches and vibrant retail centers, Coastal Club is a resort-style neighborhood that blends upscale amenities with protected natural surroundings.

To provide access across a sensitive wetland corridor, YBC engineered a multiple-span bridge design as a sustainable, low-impact alternative to a culvert. The structure curves gracefully through the environment—protecting the stream, enhancing stormwater flow, and preserving the beauty of the coastal landscape.

Inspired by coastal architecture, nautical elements, and red-roofed lighthouse forms, YBC’s Decero™ Design Team custom-crafted this timber bridge to reflect the community’s distinctive coastal identity.

Faced with limited site access and only one approach point, YBC’s construction crew implemented a creative solution—building a temporary 65-foot timber platform to install glue-laminated beams while maintaining a deck-level (top-down) construction method, ensuring minimal disruption to the stream below.
