This fixed-head E-Type (Chassis S850663) originally left the factory as a Roadster. It was sold in early 1963 and carried the registration number '49 FXN'.
Following a crash, it was returned to the factory where it was repaired with a distinct 'Low Drag' body.
Dr. Samir Klat from the Imperial College gave a lot of input for the conversion.
The Low Drag design included a very low slung pointed nose section, the roof and tail section were altered to reduce drag.
The car was raced extensively by Peter Lumsden and Peter Sargent with some success.
It has survived in very original condition despite being extensively used in historic events for many years.
It is currently owned by the owner of the company JCB.
At the end of the video you can also see the second Low Drag Coupe (Chassis S850662) which also was at birth a roadster. Registration number '4868 WK'.
