Dopo anni di "inattività" motociclistica, complice la passione, ora condivisa, di Andrea (mio figlio alias dtt.drx su YouTube), rimonto in sella, con spirito e coscienza diversi... e pensare che la mia ultima moto era la Kawa ZX-6R, parente lontana della Ninja che nel 2001, con l'australiano Andrew Pitt alla guida, vinse il mondiale SuperSport.

Ritengo la Benelli BN302 un'ottima moto, dalla linea decisamente attraente, con un prezzo abbordabilissimo e dotata di una ciclistica onesta e agile, capace di regalare emozioni, che non mette mai in difficoltà, grazie anche alle coperture di serie, i Pirelli Angel, con un avantreno, forcella a steli rovesciati, che infonde fiducia: attenzione solo a non alleggerirlo in curva spostando troppo il peso indietro. I freni, ora dotati di ABS, non hanno pretese da supernaked, ma fermano la moto molto bene.
Il motore da 300 cc, costruito in Cina, non è, ovviamente, un mostro di potenza e coppia (rispettivamente 28kW/38CV@11000rpm e 25,6Nm/2,6kgm@9750rpm) , ma è capace di buone risposte agli input del polso e performante quanto basta, a patto che si vada senza passeggero. Dotato di una buona elasticità, permettendo andature da passeggio anche in (per riprendere è meglio, però, scalare), fa sentire le vibrazioni lungo tutto l'arco di utilizzo. Sale su deciso senza quasi esitazioni, per poi in 6a appiattirsi un po’.
I consumi sono degni di nota: se non si gira tanto la manopola dell'acceleratore, si riescono a percorrere 28/30 Km con un litro di benzina, altrimentri scendono fino ai 21 (e anche meno) a gas quasi sempre spalancato.
La moto è solida, non leggerissima (185 kg a secco), con una componentistica di buona fattura, per esempio frecce e luce posteriore a LED (alcuni marchi più blasonati non li montano ancora), una strumentazione mista, LCD/analogica per il contagiri, completa, solo l’indicatore delle marce è assente, e ben leggibile e ABS escludibile a partire dal modello 2017.
Queste poche parole sono, e rimangono, le mie personalissime opinioni su una moto, la Benelli BN302, che consiglio senza riserva alcuna.

After years, it’s time to emerge from hibernation. Getting involved with my son Andrea (alias DTT.DRX on YouTube), with whom now I share bike passion, I’m riding again the bike, with a different spirit and conscience... my latest bike was the Kawa ZX-6R, Ninja’s sister who in 2001, with an australian pilot Andrew Pitt, won the SuperSport world.

But, now, some personal words about Benelli BN302. It’s a very attractive, slightly aggressive looking, street bike with friendly character, at a very affordable price, with an honest and agile chassis, able to give lot of emotions, it never puts troubles, thanks to the standard tires, the Pirelli Angel, with a front wheel (inverted fork), which gives you lot of confidence: just pay attention to not transfer to much weight aft rounding a corner, so load little bit the frontend (the fork) or at least stick around. The brakes, now with ABS, don’t have supernaked ambitious, but they stop the bike very well.
The 300cc engine, built in China, isn’t, of course, a powerful and torque monster (28kW/38CV@11000rpm and 25.6Nm/2.6kgm@9750rpm), but it’s quite reactive with a good wrist input response and with performance as good as possible, as long as you go without the passenger. It’s got a good elasticity, allowing to move forward slowly even in 6th gear (to pick up it is better, however, to change down), it makes you feel the vibrations throughout the range of use, it revs up quite quickly, without any hesitation, but, when in 6th, it flattens out a bit.
Consumption is noteworthy: if you are relaxed (your wrist), it needs one liter of fuel for 28/30km (18/19mi), but with full throttle you can go only 21Km (13mi), and even less.
The bike is solid, not lightweight (185 kg dry) with good-looking components such as LED turn indicators and backlight (some of the most popular brands haven't yet), a readable mixed LCD/analog revs instrument cluster (it’s complete but without gear indicator) and disengageable ABS starting from 2017 model.
These few words are, and remain, my very personal opinions on a bike, the Benelli BN302, which I recommend without reservation.

P.S.: I wonder how this bike would run with the TRK 502's engine 500cc and 50HP instead 300cc 38HP. Better for sure
