Do you ever have to remember information you only hear and never see? That's what I and the other memory athletes will have to do on day three of the World Memory Championships 2014 in Haikou, China.
A computer speaks a random number at the rate of one digit per second. Memory athletes sit with their eyes closed and attempt to memorize the number from start to finish.
During recall, the first number missed determines your score. Watch the video for a sample, including the actual computer voice used, and test yourself at this event.
This is my favorite event as I broke the American record at the World Memory Championships in 2013 in London by memorizing 112 digits!
Many thanks to my corporate sponsor, Bentley Systems, for helping to make it possible for me to attend the event.
