This week we continued our study in Romans, focusing on Romans 1:7–15. Paul writes to those “beloved of God, called to be saints,” reminding us that our identity begins with God’s love and calling. His love is transformational, not conditional. As Scripture says, “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:10). Christ became our substitute, and because of that, nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
Paul also reminds the believers that they are called—set apart for God’s purpose. To be a Christian is to hold an office, a holy calling, and an eternal position given by God. We are invited to walk in that calling, to choose daily the life God has prepared for us. Scripture declares that God is the One who sanctifies—Yahweh M’kadesh—the Lord who makes us holy.
May we, like Paul, desire to strengthen one another, encourage one another in the faith, and be ready to share the gospel with boldness.
