The civil war in Bosnia may have ended, but rebuilding in Sarajevo is just beginning. Representatives from the German based car empire Volkswagen, returned to their factory in Vogosca Wednesday (20/3) to look at what four years of war did to their business. The factory had been totally ransacked.

German ambassador Prizinger SOT: "I have reported to my government as well as the to the Volkswagon company that this place has not only been dismantled since '92 but it has been repeatedly vandalised. The production facilities are standing, the halls are more less intact. There has been no more damage from the outside but as I ssaid there has been dismantlement and vandalisation (sic) inside"

Volkswagen representative Udo Stolz SOT: "What we see here is a very poor skeleton without all the organs which make something to live... To be able to produce anything we have to have machinery and the the whole machinery we have seen is stolen. (SIC)"
