Описание: Today I'm back working on my cheap maple syrup evaporator build as I work to fill in air gaps. With the help of my Thermal Dynamics Drag-gun plasma cutter I get some practice in cutting steel with my plasma cutter. This is a cool tool if you've never used one. Additionally, I get to use my trusty Lincoln electric flux core welder to weld up sheet metal to the barrel evaporator to ensure no heat or smoke will be lost. Although this task isn't particularly hard, it is time consuming with the weld preparation using a grinder. To ensure that any gaps in my welds are completely filled in, I use high temperature silicone made by Imperial company. This red-coloured silicone is often used for roof flashing on chimneys and is rated well above the temperature of this woodstove. This silicone ensures that the smoke and heat says where it belongs in the barrel. You'll notice in this video that I use some steel pipe and small fan to help drive additional air into the fire. Check out how this works as a make-shift blower. Last thing I do to complete this cheap maple syrup evaporator build is to test it. Watch how long it takes me to turn snow into boiling water with nothing more than a few sticks of hardwood.
