Suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya says he fears for his life.
A search and seizure operation was conducted at his Centurion home in Pretoria from the early hours of the morning.
Sibiya's lawyer says they will challenge the legality of the move.
The police's suspended second in command will appear before Parliament's AD HOC committee on Monday, over his alleged interference in police investigations of the KwaZulu-Natal political killings task team.
