In this video we will go through the process of Hydrolysis, meaning "to cut" with water of an ester. I will show both the Acid Catalyzed version, which leads to an ester turning into a carboxylic acid and an alcohol. As well as Saponification, which is catalyzed by a base creating a carboxylate salt and an alcohol.
