What Is the Fiber Threading and Curing Process?
The fiber threading and curing process is a specialized manufacturing step designed to secure the fiber or cable at the connector end while providing effective strain relief. It is widely used in the production of fiber optic patch cords, pigtails, FTTA cables, and customized assemblies.
This process combines precision adhesive preparation, manual fiber threading, and controlled thermal curing to create a permanent and reliable fixation between the fiber and its protective boot.

Stage One: Automated Adhesive Dispensing and Pre-Molding
In the first part of the video, you can see our automated adhesive dispensing system in operation.
Using precision-controlled equipment, adhesive material is accurately dispensed into a flat mold. This step ensures that each adhesive boot is formed with consistent dimensions, uniform thickness, and stable material properties. Stage Two: Fiber Threading by Skilled Technicians
After pre-molding, the adhesive boots are removed from the mold and transferred to the fiber threading stage.
Here, experienced production technicians carefully thread each adhesive boot onto the end of a fiber optic pigtail or cable. This step requires precision, consistency, and attention to detail. Proper positioning of the boot is essential to ensure that it will provide effective strain relief and mechanical fixation once cured.

Thermal Curing: Turning Precision Into Permanence
Once the fiber assemblies are prepared, they are placed into a controlled thermal curing system.
Inside the curing equipment, the adhesive material is exposed to a precisely regulated high-temperature environment for a defined period of time. During this process, the adhesive undergoes thermal curing and permanently solidifies, forming a strong and stable bond with the fiber or cable.
