Vandyke Stitch: A Knittycat's Knits Tutorial

Описание: Video tutorial on how to knit the Vandyke stitch. This stitch provides a beautiful, V-shaped lace design. The fabric curls at the cast-on/cast-ff edge, so may need blocking to flatten it out once done.

[Abbreviations: K=knit; P=purl; K2tog=knit 2 stitches together;SKP=slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1 stitch, then pass the slipped stitch over; st=stitch; YO=yarn over]

The stitch is worked on a multiple of 10 sts + 2 sts. The pattern is a 12-row repeat.

Cast on a multiple of 10 sts + 2 (eg, 22, 32, 42, etc)
Row 1 & all odd rows (wrong side): P all sts
Row 2 (right side): K1, *YO, SKP, K8. Repeat from * to last st, then K1.
Row 4: K1, *K1, YO, SKP, K5, K2tog, YO. Repeat from * to last st, then K1.
Row 6: K1, *K2, YO, SKP, K3, K2tog, YO, K1. Repeat from * to last st, then K1.
Row 8: K1, *K5, YO, skp, K3. Repeat from * to last st, then K1.
Row 10: K1, *K3, K2tog, YO, K1, YO, SKP, K2. Repeat from * to last st, then K1.
Row 12: K1, *K2, K2tog, YO, K3, YO, SKP, K1. Repeat from * to last st, then K1.

Repeats Rows 1-12 for the pattern.
