The VW 2022+ MK8 GTI / Golf R platform is a fantastic vehicle in stock form. Featuring all the latest high tech features, an ergonomically sound interior, sport-tuned suspension and a modified EA888 Evo4 engine. Unfortunately there were some cost-cutting techniques as compared to the outgoing MK7 platform. One of these cost-saving techniques were at the demise of the pneumatic hood strut, making hood opening a manual chore and leaving the car to feel "cheap."

Our Research and Development team saw an opportunity to help make the MK8 platform more user-friendly with an easy-to-install Hood Strut Conversion Kit. Utilizing high-quality corrosion resistant hardware and a custom in-house engineered hood strut, install takes only minutes and there is no loss in hood opening height as compared to the factory prop rod, maintaining under-hood working room.
