A slideshow of photos I took during my first visit to Corofin in County Galway on Monday 2nd September 2019.
Corofin (Irish: Cora Finne) is a village and parish in County Galway. It is located south of Tuam and is just east of the N83 Galway-Tuam road (formerly the N17 Galway-Sligo road). The M17 motorway passes to the east of Corofin.
Corofin village had a population of 627 in the 2016 Census.
Corofin GAA Club was founded in 1925. In recent years it has become a very successful club and won the All Ireland Senior Football Club Championship in 1998, 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
St. Colman's Church in Corofin was built between 1842 and 1844. It was renovated in 1966. It is one of two churches in Corofin & Belclare Parish in the Archdiocese of Tuam.
St. Colman's National School is to the north of Corofin.
