I've been an Ashened enthousiast from their release in the TCG and especially when they got added to Master Duel. Sadly, they aren't up to par with meta decks. But that doesn't mean we cannot have some fun with it. I've made an extensive combo guide video before, showcasing different combos using different engines (see -    • The ULTIMATE guide to GIT GUD! - ASHENED  ) and updated that with, what I think, is the best way to play Ashened in the current format (here -    • DOMINATE ranked with the BEST ASHENED Deck!  ). Now, Konami decided to include Blue-Eyes support into the game, and whilst Blue-Eyes is great on its own. It can also fetch any field spell by utilizing Ancient Fairy Dragon.

However, this variant has a relatively high skill ceiling. I also think my list is far from solved (this compared with the pretty good Tenpai, Centur-Ion variant), so there is a lot of room of improvement. If you want to play Ashened (and already have Blue-Eyes or want to spend it on Blue-Eyes), you can go for it. But it isn't great. Blue-Eyes and Ashened pack some bricks that you don't want to see, and even with 60 cards (20 of which are mandatory handtraps given the current Duelist Cup meta), I saw them way to often. I am including Centur-Ion in this variant as well, as Centur-Ion pair well with both Ashened and Blue-Eyes (got that nice destruction prevention from Veidos and True Light - which can come up on occasion), so I am looking forward to when the new Centur-Ion cards will be added to Master Duel.

So I've warned you, just don't play it in this Duelist Cup, it will drive you (and your opponent most likely) INSANE! Watch the last 2 matches to see what I mean.

I think this version of Ashened needs some support (or just some support for Ashened in general) and a better pilot.
