Filiform corrosion is a type of localized corrosion that appears as thread-like or worm-like filaments under a coating on metal surfaces. It's often seen on painted or coated aluminum and steel, particularly in humid environments. The corrosion progresses under the coating, causing it to blister or delaminate.
