Developed by artist and educator esperanza spalding, Songwrights Apothecary Lab (S.A.L.) is a workshop and community-connected artist residency in which collaborative research and creative practice yield new music compositions designed to offer enhanced therapeutic benefit to listeners. Using the upcoming S.A.L. Los Angeles, a current partnership between esperanza spalding, UCLA, Charles Drew University and The Music Center, as a case study, the panel will discuss partnership development, community engagement, program adaptation and impact measurement in cross-sector arts and health work.
