Описание: In June 2023, 27-year-old Anastasia-Patricia Rubińska left Poland to work a seasonal job on the Greek island of Kos. Like thousands of young people every year, she traveled abroad chasing independence, opportunity, and a better future.

Just days after arriving, Anastasia disappeared.

On the night of June 12, she told her boyfriend she felt unwell after drinking alcohol and that someone had offered to drive her home. That phone call would be the last time anyone heard from her.

When Anastasia failed to return home or show up for work, Greek authorities launched a massive search involving police, volunteers, drones, and search dogs. The case drew national attention in Greece and international concern in Poland.

Six days later, her body was discovered in a remote marshy area, wrapped in plastic. An autopsy confirmed she died from asphyxiation. Her death was ruled a homicide.

Security camera footage placed Anastasia inside a suspect’s home on the night she vanished. DNA evidence and inconsistent statements led to his arrest and conviction.

In 2024, a Greek court sentenced the perpetrator to life imprisonment.
