Lost Memories of Route 66 - Holbrook, AZ (

Описание: We travel from Joseph City, AZ to Holbrook, AZ on Route 66 exploring America's lost history. Route 66 has become very popular as a vacation destination over the last 25 years. Many famous locations are still around on Route 66 to see, but less famous destinations are falling into decay and may not be around much longer to enjoy. As we leave Joseph city we find a Route 66 highlight when we stop to explore the Geronimo Trading Post! As we enter into Holbrook though, we find several motor courts, service stations and restaurants that sadly, have been abandoned and are in serious decay. Join us as we explore this area, while we still can. Itn this video we visit the following locations:

1. The Geronimo Trading Post - On display is the Worlds largest piece of Petrified Wood!
2. The Plainsman Restaurant and Motor Court - A Route 66 mainstay known for good food and accommodations has sadly fallen into dis-repair.
3. The Globetrotter Motor Court - This Motor Court started as a Whiting Brothers Motor Court. Actually, it was the first Whiting Brothers Motor Court and it still thrives today!
4. Abandoned Service Station - We found this abandoned service station all by itself. Long since abandoned, this station appears to have specialized in Auto Batteries.
5. Abandoned Service Station and Muffler Shop - This service station features unique architecture. What happened to it? Why did it close?
6. The Butterfield Stage Co. Steak House - Always a popular destination on Route 66, this wonderful steak house was known for serving fantastic steaks and quality service. Today, Sadly it has closed.
