This drama was pure bliss to watch, and as a fellow multilingual, it felt especially relatable. It was a real pleasure to put together this small summary for you all.
At its core, Ho-jin and Mu-hee’s story begins with them standing on opposite sides of the same road. Ho-jin struggles to close the gap between lingering feelings for another woman and the new love quietly knocking on his heart, while Mu-hee hesitates because she first needs reassurance that she is worthy of being loved at all. When Ho-jin confesses in Canada, Mu-hee is so consumed by her own self-doubt that she fails to recognize his confession entirely.
Editing the Canada scenes proved the most difficult for me, and only later did I realize why. I needed a translator too. After rereading multiple interpretations, rewatching the scenes countless times, and revisiting the car conversation that preceded them, everything finally clicked. When Mu-hee says, “Please translate my love too,” I could not help but imagine Ho-jin saying the same thing silently to her, wishing she could understand what he was trying so desperately to express.
When it feels like they have reached the point of no return, Do Ra-mi’s presence grows. Instead of pushing Ho-jin away, she becomes the bridge that brings them closer. Through Ra-mi, Ho-jin learns more about Mu-hee, and in many ways, Ra-mi feels like the physical manifestation of Mu-hee’s unspoken wishes, a translator for the feelings she cannot consciously voice. She says and does the things Mu-hee cannot bring herself to, translating love on her behalf.
In that sense, translation flows both ways. Ho-jin longs for Mu-hee to understand his love, while Mu-hee needs help decoding her own emotions and unresolved trauma. Ironically or not, Ra-mi becomes that interpreter for them both. The contrast of Ho-jin being a gifted linguist yet emotionally inarticulate felt deeply relatable. I saw a lot of myself in him.
Despite the sweeping international settings and beautiful cinematography, none of it ever distracted from the story’s emotional core. At its heart, this drama is simply about the most human desire there is, wanting to love and wanting to be loved. They spoke often about happy endings, and yet from the beginning, there was never any doubt that they were always meant to find their way back to each other.

Synopsis: Joo Ho-jin is a polyglot interpreter fluent in Korean, Chinese, English, Japanese, French and Italian. Known as a "linguistic genius," he values precision in both his professional and personal life. Despite his mastery of foreign languages, he remains emotionally dense and "illiterate" in the language of love. Ho-jin first encounters Cha Mu-hee in Japan when she is still an unknown actress. Following their initial meeting, Mu-hee rises to global stardom after her breakout role as Do Ra-mi in a hit zombie film. The two are reunited during an international interview where Ho-jin serves as her interpreter. Following her surge in popularity, Mu-hee joins the dating reality show Romantic Trip, where she travels to various international destinations with Japanese actor Hiro Kurosawa. Ho-jin is hired as their interpreter to bridge the communication gap between the two stars. However, Ho-jin's rigid personality frequently clashes with Mu-hee's, leading to various misunderstandings. As the production progresses, Ho-jin finds himself becoming unexpectedly emotionally invested in Mu-hee, forcing him to navigate feelings he cannot easily translate.
