LA club night Low End Theory is an institution. Founded by producer and Alpha Pup label owner Daddy Kev, the night — along with artists such as Flying Lotus and Tokimonsta — is largely responsible for shaping the LA beat scene. Fusing experimental electronic styles with hip-hop elements, the beat scene is where we find the subject of this month’s video feature: Edrina Martinez, aka Astronautica. We look at her creative and technical processes when building a track, from ethereal vocal production, to playing guitar on a Launchpad.
