Blade is an American superhero film released in 1998. It is adapted from the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name and is the first part of the "Blade" series. The film stars Wesley Snipes in the title role, with Stephen Dorff, Kris Kristofferson and N'Bushe Wright in supporting roles. Blade is a Dhampir, a human with vampire strengths but none of vampire weaknesses, who fights vampires.

Blade was released in the United States on August 21, 1998, and was a commercial success, grossing $70 million at the U.S. box office and $60.2 million worldwide. Despite mixed reviews from critics, the film received positive reviews from audiences and has since achieved cult status. It is also known as one of Snipes' signature roles.
