In political thought, Idealism emphasizes ethics, justice, harmony, and moral purpose in political life. It argues that the state is a moral institution whose main aim is the realization of ethical values and the moral development of individuals. According to idealists, political institutions should reflect reason, freedom, and universal moral principles, not merely power or material interests.
