The Chinese Alphabet Called "Pinyin" - So Few Sounds!

It wouldn’t bother us so much that Pinyin took so long to make except for the fact that its so full of inconsistencies and bullies us poor westerners who tend to look at it as they would English. There are other methods for the romanization of Chinese pronunciation, the best one we’ve seen is called the “Yale Romanization”. In our opinions this would have been a much better system to follow, however there’s no use crying of spilled milk on this one, Pinyin is the system they chose. Its how you type Chinese characters. Its what they write on street signs. It is the system you need to master. Luckily, all of the idiosyncrasies of Pinyin that set traps for foreigners we’ve taken the time to clear up.
