Members of the Georgia Tech community are owning and expressing their stories through the Transformative Narratives, curated sets of visual, oral, and written storytelling installations. This work empowers the entire campus community in engagement with issues of diversity and inclusion and helps us demonstrate and acknowledge these core values as fundamental attributes of who we are.
Within Parsing Privilege, Jerrold explores the idea that there is a space between Black and White that is not gray, it’s yellow…a commodity created from the complexion of skin. A space where hair texture equals privilege, the superficial is magnified, lines are blurred, and simply facing yourself in the mirror reminds you of things you’d rather forget.
