Born from the disaster at Dieppe in 1942, the Crocodile dragged a 6.5-ton trailer full of fuel behind a 40-ton Churchill tank, spraying fire up to 150 yards while keeping its 75mm gun ready for anything that didn't burn. German soldiers learned to recognize the trailer and surrender on sight. Captured crews were executed.
This is the story of a weapon that won battles through fear alone.
