In this video, I’ll show you how to make a simple automatic water tap using an IR LED, IR sensor, transistor, and a small water pump powered by a 3.7V battery.
This DIY project is perfect for creating a touchless water dispenser for handwashing or other applications. The IR sensor detects your hand and automatically activates the pump, making it hygienic and easy to use.
🔧 Components Used:
IR LED
IR Sensor
220Ω Resistor
2N2222 Transistor (any NPN transistor can be used)
4V Water Pump
Green LED (indicator)
3.7V Battery
💡 Note: Make sure the coil/pump is connected properly and the IR LED + sensor are aligned for accurate detection.
