We are delighted to offer this unique beautiful piano for sale.
The Kirkman was originally made in 1874 and is in an exquisite burl walnut case with fretted front panel and music desk.
The quality of the veneers and the workmanship on the fretwork and carving is superb. We asked Schimmel to put a new Wilhelm Schimmel W123 inside and our own French polisher has beautifully restored the casework.
The original Kirkman had reached the end of its mechanical life and structurally was beyond economic repair so instead of scrapping the beautiful casing, we asked German manufacturer Schimmel for some help. They have very ingeniously been able to incorporate an 88 note piano within the 85 nite casework.
It is even complete with the original silk behind the fretwork on the front panel.
