Banggood sent me this quick change tool post for review, along with a whole bunch of different holders, and I thought the best way to review it would be to try it out on the new CJ0618 Chinese 7x12 mini lathe. The tool post is sold as Machifit by Banggood, and a decent range of different tool holders are sold separately. This design is often referred to as the Aloris style tool post, after the company that invented the style. This size is sometimes referred to as 0XA to differentiate from the larger AXA and BXA sizes.
The CJ0618 has just been put back together, but is now in much better shape than when it arrived. In this video I go over installing it on the lathe, and test out the tool posts adjustment and repeatability.
