Convoy of the Decade? Heads For The Greatest Gathering!

Описание: In this video, we capture what could possibly be the convoy of the decade! Featuring 50049 Defiance, 40106 Atlantic Conveyor, 4930 Hagley Hall, 13268, two LMS coaches, two GWR coaches & a Class 108 DMU all heading from Kidderminster SVR to Derby Litchurch Lane in readiness for The Greatest Gathering from 1st - 3rd August! Captured Friday 25th July 2025.

We first capture the mega convoy climbing the steep gradient at Old Hill where just before and after the station 4930 Hagley Hall can be heard giving some assistance before 50049 powers up very nicely.

After Old Hill we ventured to Clay Mills and Willington where unfortunately the move was slowed down due to a late running EMR Newark Castle to Crewe service crossing in front of the early running convoy put a stop to any extra 50 thrash, but it was amazing to see such a convoy nonetheless.

Overall a great time seeing this once in a lifetime convoy heading for The Greatest Gathering in Derby and who knows... maybe the convoy back after the event will be bigger? Only time will tell!

The rarity of this convoy really shows when the Class 50 is the most common thing on it with this being the first time since 1986 that 4930 Hagley Hall has been on the mainline and what must be the 90s that Stanier Mogul 13268 has ventured onto the mainline, if anyone knows when they last went on the mainline let us know in the comments below!

Not to mention 40106, the LMS & GWR coaches alongside the SVRs Class 108 DMU.
