However, when you speak of the Cohiba Esplendido, that is simply not the case. The cigar is beautiful, whether you see it or not. Aside from its beauty, it is revered. And even though it is a fairly large cigar, it still remains subtle. This is a Gentleman's Cigar. After all, its size and shape are named after the most famous cigar smoker of all time: Winston Churchill. A gentleman.
The Cohiba brand is the best-known cigar brand in the world, and the big, stately Esplendido is one of its most familiar sizes. Created in 1989 as part of the Línea Clásica series (along with the chunky Robusto and diminutive Exquisito), The Churchill-sized smoke packs a considerable punch, and at its best it showcases a level of power and complexity that is hard to find anywhere else. The cigars, which were once made only at the small El Laguito Factory, are now so popular that they are produced in many factories, making consistent performance somewhat of a problem. However, the demand remains, and they are still not easy to find. When you do find them, they are not cheap.
