At the start of the Cold War in 1949, a modified Boeing B-50 named the Lucky Lady II completed a groundbreaking nonstop flight around the world. The mission demonstrated the long-range capabilities of strategic bombers, covering over 23,452 miles and crossing the Atlantic, Pacific, Europe, Asia, and Africa. After 94 hours and one minute, the crew successfully returned to Fort Worth, Texas, showcasing the United States' commitment to global air power during the early Cold War era and highlighting the aircraft's ability to reach any part of the world.
