The site of St Faith's was once an island above marshy carr land and it is believed that religious worship happened here even in pre-Christian times, long before a later Norman structure was conceived
On 11th July 1843, Archdeacon Wilberforce preached the last ever sermon in St Faith's church, Leven, The original church, built around the 14th century before it was demolished,
a new church, Holy Trinity, was constructed in the village of Leven.
