I originally did a solo no damage GM about 3 years ago on The Arms Dealer (    • Solo Grandmaster Nightfall - No Damage Tak...   ), and since then I hadn't really considered the idea of doing it again. But somebody asked on my recent compilation if I'd ever done a no damage GM, and it got me thinking about ways to approach it with the current set of GMs, eventually resulting in this. Most of the GMs don't really work for no damage by just playing well or from range, so you end up needing to rely on invis and luck just like in this run. There's a lot of enemies and Champions skipped, and it's basically an hour of playing like an absolute coward. It's about the only viable way to get it done though, and I've done about every other self-imposed handicap for these, so I figured not going for platinum should be fine for completion-sake this time.

As for the run itself, it ended up being a bit more annoying than I expected. First is just the nature of Wizards and Hive Boomers. The Wizards are incredibly sporadic, and if you get too close to them they'll use the slow cloud which deals damage. Their ranged attacks are also relentless, and they can be facing a completely different section to where they're firing. They're a nightmare to deal with.

The Hive Boomers are also pretty rough to deal with. If you try to take them out normally, you're almost guaranteed to get some sort of splash damage. If you try and work them down slowly with Witherhoard, they end up just constantly healing. So the best option I found was to simply push them off the map lol. That originally wasn't my intention, it was actually a happy accident when trying to figure out how to deal with Drain banes during the boss fight (which I wiped to multiple times). If you're ever out of invis against a Drain bane and they're in range, it instantly deals damage and that's a wipe. So it's nearly impossible to deal with them in the boss fight without taking damage. But when I was hiding from one it chased me off the edge, and from there I went full push mode for everything else.

Other issues were Slow banes and Meteors. Slows I think deal minor damage to you, so I had to keep away from them entirely. Luckily in this run it was only the melee Knight that got that bane, so I was able to actually deal with it from range. Meteors can still track you through invis, and they nearly hit me in this run.

Lastly, simple geometry dealing damage to you. I had quite a few instances where doing a single jump caused me to take damage because the ground was slightly bumpy, and there's not much you can do other than constantly trying to slow yourself down before falling. Oh, and the random hive ship that appears during the bridge section... they can track you through invis and deal damage to you too.

All-in-all, as I said it's just mostly spending an hour playing like an absolute coward with invis, and skipping what I can. But it's doable that way, so here it is. I do think platinum is probably possible, but it'd add even more time to the already incredibly long run, and the boss fight is the main issue anyway.
