Did you know that your body is its own electricity circuit? When electricity is disrupted in your nerves, that damage can affect your balance, speech, sense of touch, or pain levels. To measure nerve signals, electromyography, also known as EMG testing, allows providers to understand the type of nerve disease you have, how far the disease has progressed, and the speed and strength of your nervous response.
Listen as neurologist and EMG specialist Dr. Derrick Fox explains this diagnostic procedure, the interpretation of its results, and how it leads to successful treatment. He’ll also explain how and why some conditions, such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, or vitamin deficiencies, commonly cause nerve problems.
