Birds; they're all around us. They connect us, regardless of language.
Across cultures, beyond borders... Despite our differences, they unite us.
They inspire us, and bring us joy.

Birds are indicators of the health of the environment: Our grasslands, fragile wetlands, forests, and our majestic oceans. They tell us when something is wrong: The canary in the coalmine.

What is good for birds, is good for people.
Good for communities, for business, for the future. But many of them need our help. For over 100 years, we have been studying and conserving birds.
We've been watching them, and watching over them... And maybe a little obsessed with them.

Which is why we are doing everything we can to ensure they survive and thrive. So that our children, and their children, can also experience the wonder of birds. We are educating the next generation, creating jobs, empowering communities, protecting habitats, building a sustainable future, raising awareness, preventing extinction, creating hope.

We are BirdLife South Africa.

We're giving conservation wings.
