DUCATI Panigale V2 Crash — Lucky to Be Alive (Gear Saved Me)

Описание: It was a great day — chilly for Florida, but perfect riding weather. I met up with the Ducati club and we rode pretty much all day. I was about 4 miles from home when everything changed.
A truck suddenly shot over while I was turning right and slammed on the brakes to a complete stop. I’m not exaggerating when I say it wasn’t even “seconds” — it was half a second to react. Pure instinct. I made a split-second decision to avoid a head-on hit and tried to shoot the gap… but there wasn’t enough room. In that chaos, my mirror clipped another car — and the truck that caused it drove off and left the scene.

The saddest part? My Insta360 X5 had been running since 8 AM. I went through both batteries, and the last one died about 30 minutes before the crash — right before I got home. If it lasted a little longer, it would’ve all been on camera.

I’m bruised everywhere, especially my entire left side — it’s literally purple and blue. My wrist is broken (two fractures), my ribs hurt, and my back hit the ground hard. I’m grateful I had a back protector, because I felt that impact. The back of my head hit the ground, and my neck is very sore — but I’m here.

One detail that still messes with me: I was wearing my gold ring, and the impact literally smashed it. That’s how hard I hit.

Even the ER staff said it was a good thing I was wearing full gear, because this story could’ve ended very differently. My gear took the hit, and here’s the proof:

Helmet: AGV Rossi 46 (took impact — that damage could’ve been back of my head)
Jacket: Alpinestars GP Plus R V4 Air (brand new — bought Friday the 16th from Cycle Gear)
Pants: Alpinestars Vika V2 leather pants
Boots: Alpinestars SMX-6 V3 VENT (I used to ride in “shorty” boots… I’m SO glad I chose full ankle boots)
Back protector: took the hit when my back hit the ground
Comms: My Cardo flew off my helmet in the crash
